“AeroRange Series,” the hybrid drones developed by AERO G LAB

Hybrid drones are equipped with an engine generator (power generator) and fuel to provide power for flight. Since the drones are also equipped with a battery that is complementarily used during a voltage drop or the like, they are called hybrid drones, meaning that they are a cross between a power generator and a battery.

Features of the AeroRange Series

Long-time flights and a large payload capacity

Hybrid drones are characterized by the flight time and payload capacity that are superior to those of battery-powered drones. The AeroRange Series can fly for more than 2 hours and carry cargo whose weight ranges from 4 to 11 kg.

Weight reduction of drones

The weight of hybrid drones tends to increase as they are equipped with a power generator. However, the AeroRange Series has succeeded in reducing the weight by incorporating an ultra-compact engine.

Cost effectiveness

They use a mixed fuel that can be purchased at home improvement stores or the like. The fuel can easily be procured, and as a result, the operating costs of the hybrid drones can be lower than those of battery-powered drones.

Areas of application for the AeroRange Series

Drones have the potential to be used in a variety of places and scenes. Drones are expected to play important roles in the following applications: Transporting goods to mountainous areas where vehicles struggle to gain access, to remote islands, and to areas isolated due to a disaster. Furthermore, camera-mounted drones can be used to search for missing people in disaster areas.

In disaster areas, people have little spare time to replace or recharge batteries, and in some cases, recharging may not be possible due to power outages in the first place. This is when hybrid drones, which can fly longer and farther, play an important role.

High safety achieved by patented technologies

The “AeroRange” Series has improved safety thanks to the strength and arrangement of the fuel tank.

In the AeroRange Pro, the fuel tank is arranged inside the main frame, making it difficult to damage the tank even if the airframe is damaged in a crash. In the AeroRangeQuad, a cavity inside the high-strength frame is used as a fuel tank. These arrangements and fuel storage methods are patented.
